it's the illness of any Chinese novel. And, if i understood correctly from many urban Chinese novels I've read, there is a big reason for this. Chinese novel websites offering a salary for authors, but authors should write some quota per month, in amount of symbols, 150k, for example. i don't know, if it's really like this, but it seems to be true, since they writing so much of useless text every time, just like Indian programmers 10+ years ago was writing tons of useless code, because they was payed for amount of code written
